Honoring Women of Jewelry Event at G Marie Luxuries

At a recent luncheon hosted at G Marie Luxuries, the focus was on jewelry and the women who created it.

Esteemed author Linda Kozloff-Turner, author of Women In Jewelry, gave a lecture about her two-volume collector’s edition book featuring 100 female jewelers from around the world, their incredible journeys, and their amazing work. It has taken her over ten years to track down, interview, take photos, and write the prose for these books. And in that time, everyone featured over those years IS STILL IN BUSINESS.

Tracking down and securing intimate interviews with all the jewelers was a huge undertaking. Having plenty of chocolate bars on hand was the secret ingredient to secure a good chat.

We were lucky to be able to bring one of the women featured in the book to speak as well and showcase her eye-popping creations. Paula Crevoshay, an award-winning and museum-collected artist who hails from Louisiana but now lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, was in-house along with her soulmate and husband, Martin Bell.

Crevoshay is the Queen of Color and draws her design inspiration from flora, fauna, land, sea, and sky. She is currently working on a series inspired by the galactic images from James Webb’s Hubble Telescope.

The event was well attended and successfully spread the gospel of women jewelers while educating attendees about the qualities of precious and rare gems and the creative process from inception to finished masterpiece.

And a few of those masterpieces found new homes in happy clients.
