Our in-house expert, Carla Carter, is a GIA Graduate Gemologist and Applied Jewelry Professional, as well as an AGS Registered Jeweler with over 25 years of experience in the fine jewelry industry. A dedicated treasure hunter, Carla travels the globe to curate exceptional fine jewelry and gemstones for our clients.
She attends prestigious trade shows and conferences to stay at the forefront of design trends while maintaining close relationships with top jewelry designers. Her extensive network of trusted colleagues, including master lapidaries, award-winning designers, and ethical gemstone and diamond dealers, gives her access to rare, high-quality pieces that are not easily found elsewhere.
In addition to sourcing, Carla also offers professional jewelry appraisals for luxury designer jewelry that meets the highest industry standards. Valerie Buennemeyer is a GIA Graduate Gemologist, AGS Registered Jeweler, and AGS Certified Gemologist Appraiser with ten years of experience in the jewelry industry. She brings a thoughtful, client-focused approach to every interaction, whether she is guiding someone through a meaningful purchase or helping create a custom piece that becomes part of their story. Ask her about her favorite gemstone and you will likely get a new answer each time, but sapphire, tanzanite, and tourmaline always top the list. Valerie’s expertise, warmth, and genuine love for the craft make her an invaluable part of the G Marie experience.

With an eye for beauty and a spirit for storytelling, Judy Cowling brings her vibrant energy and design expertise to every client interaction at G Marie Luxuries. A graduate of William & Mary with a degree in Fine Art, Judy has spent her career transforming spaces and experiences through color, form, and a deep understanding of aesthetics.
From launching a business in custom-painted furniture, murals, and faux finishes to her seamless evolution into interior and architectural design, Judy’s creative journey eventually led her to design the very jewelry boutique she now calls home. Today, she brings that same intuitive eye and artistic sensibility to helping clients discover the perfect piece that speaks to them.
Judy is a natural connector, our resident social butterfly, whose warmth and wit turn first-time visits into lasting relationships. Known for her refreshing honesty, approachable candor, and infectious enthusiasm, she offers more than guidance; she creates experiences.
